Privacy Policy
Last updated September 20, 2026.
1. Introduction
Ariel Herzog Law PLLC (“the Firm,” “we,” or “us”) provides this Privacy Policy to explain what personal information we collect through arielherzoglaw.com (the “Site”), how we use it, who else can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version on the Site. The date it was last updated appears above.
This Privacy Policy covers only information collected through the Site. It does not cover information we receive from or about clients in the course of representing them. That information is governed by our engagement agreements and by our obligations of confidentiality under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, which are more protective than this Policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. The Site has one contact form. It asks for your name and email address, which are required, and your telephone number and company or organization, which are optional, together with a description of your inquiry. We collect only what you type into it. You may also contact us directly by email or telephone.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting and security provider records limited technical information about the request, including IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of the visit. This is generated and retained by that provider for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. We add no tracking of our own.
The categories of personal information we collect through the Site are limited to:
- Identifiers — name, email address, telephone number, and IP address;
- Professional information — the company or organization you give us; and
- The contents of your message — whatever you choose to write.
What we do not collect. The Site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking technology of any kind. We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, health information, or other sensitive categories of personal information through the Site. We do not collect biometric data. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
3. How we obtain your information
We obtain the information described above from two sources only: directly from you, when you complete the contact form or contact us by email or telephone; and automatically from your browser’s request to the Site, as described above. We do not purchase personal information, and we do not compile it from data brokers or public records in connection with the Site.
4. How the contact form works
When you submit the contact form, your message is sent over an encrypted connection to our hosting provider, where a short program forwards it to the Firm’s email account at info@arielherzoglaw.com. Nothing is written to disk, and nothing is kept once the message has been sent.
The Site does not store your message. There is no database, no form-handling service, and no log of submissions. The only copy is the email in the Firm’s email system.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to inquiries and communicate with you about your question or potential engagement;
- run a conflicts check where you contact us about a possible matter;
- operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site and prevent abuse;
- maintain business records; and
- comply with legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, including the record-retention requirements that apply to attorney advertising in New York.
We do not use information collected through the Site to train machine learning models. We will not use or share it in ways unrelated to the purposes above without first obtaining your consent.
6. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
The Site uses no cookies. It sets none of its own, and it loads no third-party script that sets any.
We use no analytics. We do not run any analytics product. We do not measure individual visits and we do not build profiles of visitors.
We use no advertising or tracking technology. There are no advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media pixels, session recording tools, or cross-site tracking technologies on the Site, and we do not permit third parties to collect personal information through the Site for their own purposes.
Fonts. The Site’s two typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google and Google receives your IP address in doing so. No cookie is set, and Google states that it does not use these requests to profile visitors or serve advertising.
7. Who processes your information
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Two service providers currently process personal information collected through the Site:
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the Site, provides its content delivery and security layer, and runs the program that forwards contact form submissions.
- Google LLC (Google Workspace) provides the Firm’s email service, which receives and stores messages sent through the contact form, and serves the typefaces used on the Site.
Beyond those, we disclose personal information only where required by law, court order, subpoena, or regulatory or disciplinary authority, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims — and where the information is subject to the attorney-client privilege or our duty of confidentiality, we will assert those protections.
8. Contacting us about a legal matter
Using this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Submitting the contact form or sending an email does not make you a client of the Firm. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when we and you sign a written engagement agreement.
Do not send confidential information before we have agreed to represent you. Information you send before an engagement is in place may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege, and we may already represent another party with interests adverse to yours. Please limit an initial message to your name, contact details, and a general description of the subject matter so that we can run a conflicts check.
How we treat what you do send. We treat information submitted through the Site as confidential to the extent required by Rule 1.18 of the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, which protects information learned from a prospective client even if no engagement follows. We use that information only to evaluate and respond to your inquiry and to check for conflicts.
Time-sensitive matters. Do not rely on the contact form for anything urgent or subject to a deadline. We cannot guarantee that a message sent through the Site will be received or reviewed by any particular time.
9. Retention
Contact form submissions exist only as email in the Firm’s email system, and are retained there for as long as necessary to respond, to run and preserve conflicts records, and to meet our professional and legal obligations. The Site itself retains nothing. Technical request logs are generated and retained by our hosting provider in accordance with its own retention practices.
In determining how long to keep information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we hold it, whether those purposes can be achieved another way, and applicable legal and professional requirements. Where the New York Rules of Professional Conduct require it, we preserve copies of Site content as attorney advertising records.
10. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act and our professional obligations. Messages submitted through the contact form are encrypted in transit from your browser to our hosting provider and from there to the Firm’s email system. Access to the Firm’s email account is protected by multi-factor authentication.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and any transmission is at your own risk. If we determine that a breach has compromised private information, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
11. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you from the Site, or ask which vendors process it, by contacting us using the details in Section 13. Before acting on a request we will take reasonable steps to verify that it comes from you, which may mean asking for information that lets us match the request to our records.
We will respond as promptly as we can. Some information cannot be deleted, including records we must keep to comply with our professional obligations, conflicts-checking duties, or advertising record-retention rules. If we cannot comply with a request, we will tell you and explain why. We will not treat you differently for making one.
EEA and UK visitors. The Site is directed to individuals and businesses in the United States, and we do not target visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you are located there and contact us, we process your information on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry, or steps taken at your request before entering into an engagement. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
12. Other terms
Children. The Site is intended for business and professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have received such information, we will delete it.
International visitors. The Firm operates in the United States, and information collected through the Site is processed and stored there. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those where you live.
